You don’t need to know anything about Formula 1 racing to be drawn into this documentary series that explores the drivers, teams, and season-to-season drama of the world’s most popular racing sport. Each season of the series takes a deep dive into the prior year’s Formula 1 World Championship competition, profiling the colorful drivers, team principals (basically, the coach of the team), team dynamics, and racing drama that makes Formula One so exciting. The first season of Drive to Survive covered the 2018 racing season, and subsequent seasons explored the rise — and fall — of various racers, how the league was affected by a global pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine, and the delicate balance between camaraderie and competition that fuels the sport. The recently released fifth season brings fans up to speed with the events from the 2022 season.

Returning for its fourth season, You is one of the more controversial entries in Netflix’s list of original series. The series follows Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), a bookstore owner whose dark impulses take control when he becomes infatuated with a customer. A surprise hit for Netflix, the psychological drama is based on Caroline Kepnes’ novel, and each season has taken the saga to darker, bloodier places as Joe balances new responsibilities with his sinister past. Disturbing, tense, and twisted, the series keeps generating plenty of buzz with each new chapter in Joe’s story.

The series features first-hand interviews with his victims and other material that offers background on the origins of the sex cult created by Ray at the private college and the events that led to his conviction.

One of the greatest game franchises of all time sets a high bar for the TV series, but early reviews suggest the show is off to a great (and appropriately heart-wrenching) start.

Trouble always seems to find them, though, and it’s usually a very, very weird kind of trouble. Come for the flurry of F-bombs and clever dialogue, but stay for the terrifying “butt-monsters” and other, even weirder threats to reality as we know it.

Beautifully realized on the screen, the series stars Logan actress Dafne Keen, whose character’s journey takes her from one end of the world to another, and through the barriers between her world and others, finding friends and allies among talking polar bears, sky-hopping nomads, and powerful wielders of the mysterious substance known as Dust.

The first season of the series left the uniquely gifted clones in deep water (literally) as they rescued one of their own from the facility where they were created, still uncertain of their place in this new galaxy. Season 2 of the series premiered January 4.
