LG releases 2023 OLED TV prices: evo G3 starts at $2,500, preorders start March 6

LG has announced the pricing and availability of its 2023 OLED 4K and 8K TV lineup, including the eagerly anticipated OLED evo G3 Gallery Edition — the first 4K OLED TV to make use of microlens array (MLA) technology for enhanced brightness, color, and viewing angles. All models will be available for preorder starting March 6 on LG.com, with deliveries happening in March and April, depending on the size and model.

Unfortunately, the company has yet to announce pricing or availability on two of its most interesting new OLED TVs, the LG Signature OLED M, a 97-inch TV with wireless transmission of video and audio, and OLED T, a transparent OLED TV.

In addition to the LG G3’s MLA tech, which LG calls “brightness booster max,” the company has introduced several new features to its G3 and C3 4K OLED TVs, like the new a9 Gen6 AI processor, which does a better job of upscaling images and video to 4K. It also enables better HDR performance, virtual 9.1.2 surround sound, and Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro, which the company says will “reveal hidden details and brings greater depth to every frame.”

Digital Trends’ Top Tech of CES 2023 Awards
Best of CES 2023 Awards Our Top Tech from the Show Feature

Let there be no doubt: CES isn’t just alive in 2023; it’s thriving. Take one glance at the taxi gridlock outside the Las Vegas Convention Center and it’s evident that two quiet COVID years didn’t kill the world’s desire for an overcrowded in-person tech extravaganza -- they just built up a ravenous demand.

From VR to AI, eVTOLs and QD-OLED, the acronyms were flying and fresh technologies populated every corner of the show floor, and even the parking lot. So naturally, we poked, prodded, and tried on everything we could. They weren’t all revolutionary. But they didn’t have to be. We’ve watched enough waves of “game-changing” technologies that never quite arrive to know that sometimes it’s the little tweaks that really count.

CES 2023: Hisense’s mini-LED TVs now start under $500, with models up to 85 inches
Hisense U8K, U7K, and U6K mini-LED TVs.

Hisense has revealed its 2023 lineup of TVs at CES 2023, and it's chock-full of high-brightness mini-LEDs, including a new flagship known as the UX. There are 14 models with mini-LED backlighting, from the high-performance U8K Series to the step-down U7K Series and the affordable U6K Series. With the exception of the U6K, which it says will start at an incredibly affordable sub-$500 price, Hisense hasn't said how much the new models will cost or when they'll be available. The company also debuted its new lineup of Laser TV and Laser Cinema 4K projectors.

Panasonic brings a Micro Lens Array OLED TV to CES 2023, but will it sell the TV here too?
Panasonic MZ2000 4K OLED TV.

Panasonic has revealed its latest OLED TV at CES 2023 -- the MZ2000, which features a new panel design built with Micro Lens Array technology. Panasonic says this gives the MZ2000 up to 150% stronger peak brightness and improved average brightness when compared to its previous OLED TVs. The MZ2000 will be available in 55-, 65-, and 77-inch screen sizes, however only the 55- and 65-inch models use the new Micro Lens Array-based panels.

Curiously, even though Panasonic buys its OLED panels from LG Display, the same company that provides OLED panels to its sister company, LG Electronics (LGE), LGE did not specifically call out Micro Lens Array as the tech behind its much brighter G3 OLED evo model.
